Green Sun

How can we stay and breathe this dusty air?

We’ve seen a million years

But now the smoke has cleared

Heat scorched then buried all that has disappeared

This sun will burn away our atmosphere

What can we do when every molecule is consumed?

Extract, implant inside a synthetic carbon tomb

Like a threat that sits

Beside ourselves

Inside ourselves

Until our future fears confronts us

Face to face

How can we run when our footprints will remain?

Escape this blazing Sun to Babylon and back again

Hostile earth your skies

Are turning neon red

Saturating everything

The living and the dead
